Uganda : visa-free entry granted to 40 countries including over 20 African states

On March 11, 2026, the Ugandan government announced visa-free entry for nationals of around 40 countries, including more than 20 African states such as Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zambia. The policy, implemented by the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, allows visitors to stay for up to 90 days for tourism or business. According to official immigration data, the measure aims to boost tourism, facilitate regional mobility and strengthen economic integration within the East African Community.
