The Ugandan government is considering exempting startups from income tax for their first three years. This initiative, part of the 2025 Income Tax Bill, aims to strengthen the startup ecosystem, which attracted only $10.6M in 2023, a 60.4% drop from the previous year. Kampala remains the country’s main startup hub.
