From June 22 to 25, 2025, over 2,700 leaders from the U.S. and Africa, including 12 African Heads of State, convened for the 17th U.S.–Africa Business Summit. Led by Ambassador Troy Fitrell and key officials such as Massad Boulos, Thomas Hardy, and Constance Hamilton, the summit generated over $2.5 billion in commitments. These strategic partnerships span various sectors, including the construction of grain silos in Angola by Amer-Con, expansion of digital infrastructure and cybersecurity through Cybastion, development of an LNG terminal in Sierra Leone with CEC Africa and AG&P, and major energy projects like a hydropower plant in Rwanda and DRC involving Ruzizi III and Anzana Electric Group. Additionally, significant investments were announced in Ethiopia’s hospitality sector and a transmission line connecting Angolan hydropower to mines in the DRC. These agreements highlight a strong commitment to boost trade and regional integration between the two continents.
