Tunisia La Berd grants a € 2 million loan to Advans to support microfinance
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (Berd) announces, Wednesday, January 8, 2020, the signing of a loan in local currency of 6.5 million Tunisian dinars (2 M €) with Advans Tunisia. This international microfinance institution (11 million customers worldwide and 16,000 customers in Tunisia in 2019) will be able to use these funds to help Tunisian SMEs, which represent more than 80,000 companies and 40% of gross domestic product. (GDP) of the country, and very small companies (more than a million companies). Berd will provide « technical support to strengthen institutional capacities in the areas of credit and operational risk management » from Advans Tunisia, as Berd specifies in a press release.
