On December 9, 2025, Tunis was selected as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2027 during the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism in Baghdad. The title highlights the city’s cultural, heritage and creative assets, also recognized by its entry into the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
Tunisia was additionally elected to the Council’s executive bureau.
