Tunisia : Shandong Haiwang Chemical invests $95 million in chemical project
On July 17, 2025, Tunisia’s Minister of Industry, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, welcomed Wu Yonghong, Vice-President of Shandong Haiwang Chemical, China’s top chemical company and the world’s third-largest bromine producer. The company confirmed a $95 million investment to establish a plant producing 92,000 tons annually of bromine derivatives. This initiative strengthens bilateral cooperation and targets the valorization of Tunisia’s high-value mineral salts.
