On May 27, 2025, Minister Issam Lahmar announced in Tunis the upcoming creation of a bank for the social and solidarity economy, under Decree-Law No. 30 of 2020. The EU-funded “Jonas” project, worth $26.4M, has already launched 170 initiatives and created 3,600 jobs. The ILO and EU back this justice-focused economic model.
