Togo : Islamic Development Bank approves $60.3 million for agriculture

During its 357th meeting in Jeddah on October 14, 2024, the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) approved funding of $60.3 million (approximately 36 billion FCFA) to support income-generating activities and agricultural productivity in Togo. This funding is part of a broader $1.2 billion program aimed at nine African countries to improve the lives of vulnerable populations. Agriculture, which accounts for over 40% of Togo’s GDP, currently utilizes only 1.4 million hectares of arable land. This support will strengthen the country’s economic development.
