Togo : historic national rollout of R21 malaria vaccine

On 1 September 2025, Togo became the first African country to implement the R21/Matrix-M malaria vaccine nationwide, covering all 39 districts. Approximately 269,000 children will receive the four-dose schedule, strengthening malaria prevention tools and demonstrating Togo’s commitment to child health. WHO and Gavi support this strategic rollout.
