The increase reflects economic growth above 6% in 2024-2025 (IMF) combined with revised population data from the 5th General Population Census published by the National Institute of Statistics (INSEED) and updated by the United Nations Population Division in January 2026. The downward population adjustment mechanically raised the GDP-per-capita ratio, a key benchmark used by the IMF and World Bank.
