Togo : Bank lending rises to $1.5bn by end-Sept. 2025

By end-September 2025, Togolese banks extended around $1.5 billion in new loans (FCFA 903bn), according to the National Credit Council meeting in Lomé. The figure reflects a 22% year-on-year increase, signalling sustained confidence in the economy, said the council chaired by Essowè Georges Barcola. Average lending rates stood near 7.5%, while authorities call for stronger financing for MSMEs, agriculture, housing and faster digitalisation.
