Togo : agreement signed for electricity production using micro nuclear reactors

On December 2, 2024, in Lomé, President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé presided over the signing of an agreement between Togo and the American company Nano Nuclear Energy for electricity production using micro nuclear reactors. This partnership aims to address the country’s energy challenges by diversifying its energy sources and reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels. The small modular reactors (SMRs), safe and environmentally friendly, will help increase electricity production capacity and support Togo’s energy transition.
