The Abu Dhabi Development Fund (ADFD) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) have granted Togo a 15 million $ loan to finance the construction of a solar photovoltaic power plant.
The project aims at providing clean and reliable energy to about 700,000 households and small businesses and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 9,242 tonnes / year.
Local communities will benefit from improved access to drinking water, education and health care, as well as job creation favoring women.
