Organized by the Argenlivre publishing house, the week-end de l’écrivain, the second edition of which will take place on July 29 in Paris, August 12 and 13 in Ouagadougou and August 19 and 20 in Yaoundé, is a cultural event designed to promote African entrepreneurial writers.
« The WDE is an event created in 2022 with the sole aim of pursuing Argenlivre’s mission, which is to shine light on African authors. Those who write for IMPACT »
« To this day, the black community is still perceived as a community that can only distinguish itself through entertainment (sports, music, dance and comedy). Proof of this is that athletes, film actors and musicians all have prestigious events to celebrate their arts, » the organizers lament. But all too often our creators are overlooked or even scorned, when they are the ones with the real power to change things. The WDE is an event that was created in 2022 with the sole aim of pursuing Argenlivre’s mission to shine a light on African authors. Those who write for IMPACT ».
« A highly prestigious event, where experiences are exchanged and inspiring meetings are held on a variety of topics, so that as much knowledge as possible can be shared with the general public”
This second edition of the Week-end de l’Écrivain, which is expected to attract more than 500 people and some ten conferences, is intended as an opportunity to meet « inspiring » authors. « This is why the Week-end De l’Écrivain was born, with the intention of highlighting African authors through a highly prestigious event, sharing experiences and inspiring encounters around the various themes on offer, so that as much knowledge as possible can be shared with the general public. »
