Titled « Everything Precious Is Fragile, » the pavilion highlights artists Chloé Quenum, Romuald Hazoumè, Moufouli Bello, and Ishola Akpo. Chloé Quenum, a multidisciplinary artist, shapes works exploring culture and history. Romuald Hazoumè, a renowned artist, uses recycled materials to convey powerful messages. Moufouli Bello explores social constructions through vibrant paintings. Ishola Akpo, a photographer, merges reality and fiction, tradition and modernity. « Everything Precious Is Fragile » offers a unique opportunity for Benin to shine on the global art stage.
Nigeria confirms its presence
Under the theme « Nigeria Imaginary, » Nigeria returns with a collective exhibition featuring eight talented artists such as Precious Okoyomon, Tunji Adeniyi-Jones, Toyin Ojih Odutola, and others. These artists, exploring daily life, migration, and visual storytelling, represent the artistic diversity of Nigeria.
Morocco at the entrance of the Arsenal
Morocco, a special guest, strengthens African presence with its first pavilion led by artist Mahi Binebine. Artists Fatiha Zemmouri, Safaa Erruas, and Majida Khattari will be showcased. Fatiha Zemmouri explores construction and regeneration through natural materials. Safaa Erruas uses white to express absence and fragility. Majida Khattari explores the representation of female bodies in Arab societies. The selection of these female artists underscores their excellence and provides Morocco with a unique opportunity to promote its art on a global scale.
