Television : Canal+ completes MultiChoice takeover, becoming Africa’s pay-TV leader
On September 22, Canal+ confirmed it had finalized the acquisition of Johannesburg-based MultiChoice, the dominant pay-TV operator in anglophone and lusophone Africa. The €2.5 bn deal gives Vincent Bolloré’s group over 40 million subscribers across 70 countries, strengthening its role as Africa’s top audiovisual player and expanding its global footprint.
