Tech : Chpter raises $1.2 million to accelerate development

Kenyan social commerce platform Chpter has raised $1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Ken Njoroge, co-founder of Cellulant. The funding, supported by Plesion Capital, Techstars, Norrsken, Renew Capital, ViKtoria Ventures, and investors like Benjamin Fernandes from NALA, will be used to enhance product development and boost sales and marketing efforts. Founded in 2021, Chpter automates sales on WhatsApp and Instagram. Currently operating in Kenya and South Africa, it plans to expand into Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, and Morocco.
