Sustainable agriculture in Africa : a strategic agreement between CEA and FAO

On March 21, the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) signed a memorandum of understanding in Addis Ababa, aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and economic diversification across Africa. This agreement, set against the backdrop of transforming food systems, will strengthen cooperation to tackle climate change and food security challenges. It also paves the way for the implementation of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) from 2026 to 2035, aiming to boost investments in high-quality agro-food systems across the continent.
