South Africa : STANLIB acquires stake in Cassava Data Centres to scale digital infrastructure

South African fund manager STANLIB Asset Management, through STANLIB Infrastructure Fund II, has received approval from the Competition Tribunal to acquire a significant stake — with a path to control — in Cassava Africa Data Centres, a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies. The pan-African operator runs three South African facilities (Midrand-Johannesburg, Centurion, Cape Town) with 30 MW capacity, while a fourth 20 MW site is under construction in Cape Town. The deal aims to boost digital infrastructure and rising cloud demand across the continent.
