South Africa: McKenzie launches cultural and creative industries clusters

South Africa’s Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, has announced the official rollout of clusters dedicated to cultural and creative industries to strengthen the sector. According to the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, the initiative aims to support local ecosystems, boost employment and improve access to funding. The UNESCO highlights that creative industries already generate millions of jobs globally. In South Africa, the program seeks to structure value chains and scale exports of creative content.
