South Africa : Launch of First Clean Trade and Investment Partnership (CTIP)

On 22 November 2025, the European Union and South Africa signed the first-ever Clean Trade and Investment Partnership (CTIP) to boost trade and investment in clean supply chains. The agreement supports South Africa’s Just Energy Transition, strengthens EU access to raw materials, and fosters local industrial growth. Key sectors include renewable energy, low-carbon technologies, clean fuels, electricity transmission, and raw materials value chains. CTIP will mobilize public and private financing and involve businesses through a Business-to-Government Forum.
