South Africa : First G20 Summit in Africa Opens in Johannesburg on 22 November

On 22 November 2025, Johannesburg hosts the first G20 summit on African soil, themed “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability”. The summit aims to amplify Africa’s and the Global South’s voice in global governance, focusing on debt sustainability, green transition, and inclusive development. President Cyril Ramaphosa and Deputy Minister Alvin Botes highlight the continent’s strategic role in international reforms and South-South cooperation.
