On September 1, Somalia unveiled its national e-visa portal (evisa.gov.so), created with support from the IOM. The digital platform streamlines visa applications for travelers and the diaspora, strengthens border security, and channels revenues directly into public accounts. Part of a wider digital transformation strategy, it follows mobile payment innovations and aims to boost tourism, transparency, and economic appeal.
