Senegal : Sangomar production exceeds expectations with 16.9 million barrels in 2024

In 2024, the Sangomar well produced nearly 16.9 million barrels of crude oil, surpassing the initial target of 11.7 million barrels. This output generated about $950 million (595.5 billion CFA francs) in revenue. These figures were provided by the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.
The country’s hydrocarbon resources, including oil and gas from the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim project, are expected to help lower energy costs, a key priority for the government.
