Senegal-Republic of Korea: $15 million for agricultural value chains

The Senegalese government, on Thursday March 2, announced that it has signed a $15 million agreement with the Republic of Korea to develop sustainable agricultural value chains. The project will be implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute, which is already present in seven regions of Senegal with 40 projects worth $1.87 billion.
The project combines food sovereignty, soil conservation, water saving and the use of green inputs. It will increase yields by 10% for small farmers, who account for 80% of the country’s agricultural production.
