Senegal has been officially designated to host the 2028 African Water Congress, marking the event’s return to Dakar 32 years after the 1994 edition. The decision was confirmed during the handover ceremony organized by the African Water and Sanitation Association (AfWASA). The symbolic insignia – canoe and paddle – were presented to Minister of Water and Sanitation Cheikh Tidiane Dièye. Dakar is set to become a continental hub for water and sanitation governance in 2028.
