New funding to the tune of $ 14.2 billion was allocated on Monday to the Great Green Wall Initiative for the Sahel and the Sahara. The funding will provide the necessary impetus for the restoration of degraded lands, the safeguard of biological diversity, the creation of green jobs, and the strengthening of the resilience of Sahelian communities.
