Rwanda marks 20 years of Kwita Izina : “Protecting gorillas is protecting ourselves”

At the foot of the mountains and under a radiant sun, Rwanda celebrated on September 5 the 20th edition of Kwita Izina, the traditional gorilla naming ceremony. In front of a host of international celebrities, the country reaffirmed its commitment to protecting biodiversity, empowering local communities, and promoting sustainable tourism.
