Rwanda: End of the Marburg epidemic
Rwanda has officially declared the end of the Marburg virus epidemic. According to the Minister of Health, Sabin Nsanzimana, no new cases have been reported in the past two weeks, and no deaths have occurred in the last month. The epidemic caused 15 deaths out of 66 confirmed cases, with a mortality rate of 22.7%. Authorities remain vigilant, especially regarding fruit bats, which can carry the virus.
