President Paul Kagame appointed Dr Justin Nsengiyumva as Rwanda’s new Prime Minister on Wednesday, July 23, replacing Dr Édouard Ngirente who served since 2017.
Prior to his appointment, Dr Nsengiyumva was Deputy Governor at the National Bank of Rwanda. He has also held senior positions of Former Permanent Secretary in the Ministries of Commerce, Trade and Industry as well as the Ministry of Education.
Nsengiyumva earned a PhD in Economics from the University of Leicester in the UK.
