Housing / Partnership between Shelter Afrique and BRVM for affordable housing in Africa

Shelter Afrique Development Bank (ShafDB) and the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) have signed a memorandum of understanding to mobilize funds for affordable housing projects in Africa. This partnership aims to address a deficit of over 53 million housing units on the continent. The two organizations will work on innovative financial instruments, including green bonds and real estate investment trusts (REITs). This agreement, signed in Washington DC during the annual meetings of the IMF, marks a significant advancement in financing sustainable housing, particularly in the eight countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA).
