On June 27, 2025, during Afreximbank’s Annual Meetings in Abuja, Africa launched PAPSSCARD — the continent’s first Pan-African payment card. Created by Afreximbank, PAPSS, and Mercury, it enables fast, secure cross-border transactions without relying on global systems. This is a key step toward African financial sovereignty and stronger intra-African trade.
