Uganda: the shilling should remain stable in 2021
For the Central Bank, despite domestic and global economic challenges, the Ugandan shilling has seen improved performance. The central bank says that on average, the shilling depreciated by 0.38% in 2020, against an appreciation of 0.6% in 2019. With the gradual economic recovery gaining momentum in Uganda Dr Adam Mugume, Executive Director of Research at the Bank of Uganda, hopes the Ugandan currency is likely to remain stable in 2021.
