Orange Objective 50% of renewable energies in 2025

« We are going to develop solar in Africa (…) but also in Spain, and wind in Poland. We will buy from suppliers of clean energy, or we will set up projects in partnership, as we did in Jordan where our solar farms produce 75% of the electricity consumed by Orange « , announced the CEO of the French telecoms group Orange, Stéphane Richard. The objectives are ambitious: today, 18% of the energy consumed by Orange comes from renewable sources; in 2025, it should be 50%. To put it into perspective, the company’s CO2 emissions fell by 3% between 2016 and 2018. They must have decreased by 30% in 2025. To achieve this, Orange promises hundreds of millions of euros of investment, already partly integrated into the operator’s forecasts
