Nigeria : Longi confirms 1 GW solar panel Factory in partnership with the energy commission

Chinese solar giant Longi has signed a strategic agreement with Nigeria’s Energy Commission to establish a solar panel manufacturing plant with a capacity of 500 MW to 1 GW. The deal, finalized in Xi’an, supports Nigeria’s push to build a local solar industry and cut reliance on imports. It is the third major solar manufacturing project announced in the country since March 2025, signaling growing momentum in domestic renewable energy production.
