Nigeria : first license for a floating LNG plant

The Nigerian Petroleum Regulatory Authority has granted UTM Offshore Limited a license to operate the first floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant. This project aims to utilize flared gas from an ExxonMobil field in the Niger Delta. The plant, with a capacity of 2.8 million tons per year, will begin production in 2029, supported by $2.1 billion in funding from Afreximbank.
