Niger : World Bank provides $400M to upgrade 428 km of roads

On June 4, 2025, Niger signed a $400 million loan agreement with the World Bank to rehabilitate 235 km of the Maradi–Zinder section of National Road 1 (RN1) and upgrade 193 km of rural roads under the PICSN project. The program aims to serve over 16 million people, boost local employment, enhance regional integration, strengthen climate resilience, and promote transparent governance.
