On October 14, 2025, the Nigerien government approved a decree creating a National Cybersecurity Center. Its mandate is to coordinate the national strategy for securing information systems and critical infrastructures, enhance cyber resilience, and support economic and social development. Niger ranks in category T4 on the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index.
