Niger-European Union: signing of 4 new financing agreements worth 53 billion CFA francs
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Hassoumi Massaoudou and Ambassador Salvador Pinto da França, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Niger, signed four new financing agreements between Niger and the EU on May 26, 2023 in Niamey, in the key sectors of access to water and energy, sustainable agricultural development and internal security.
Worth 80 million euros (53 billion CFA francs), this major new EU support for Niger is in line with the multiannual cooperation program framework (2021-2027), is also in line with the objectives of Team Europe’s « Global Gateway » strategy, and aligns with the government’s priorities for security, stability and development in Niger.
