Niger : BADEA grants US$50 million loan to support girls’ boarding school construction project
The Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) has just granted Niger a loan of US$50 million to support the presidential program for the development of school infrastructure.
This decision was approved by the Board of Directors of the aforementioned institution, held in June 2023, and was notified to the Minister of Planning by the Director General of BADEA in a letter dated June 8.
The funds will be used to finance the Projet de développement des infrastructures scolaires et de promotion de l’équité et de la qualité en milieu scolaire (PDISPEQ), in particular the construction of 50 boarding schools for girls, one of President Mohamed Bazoum’s flagship programs.
