Niger : AfDB provides $165.5M for drinking water and sanitation project

Niger received a $165.5 million loan from the African Development Bank on November 7, 2025, to fund the Niger Water Project, improving access to drinking water and sanitation for over one million people in Zinder, Mirriah and surrounding villages. The initiative includes building boreholes, water towers, distribution networks, latrines, and training managers and technicians, enhancing resilience against health and climate challenges.
