Niger : AfDB Provides $144.7M to Improve Electricity Access and Private Sector Competitiveness

The African Development Bank (AfDB) signs a $144.7M financing agreement with Niger to enhance electricity access, boost private sector competitiveness, and develop renewable energy. Phase 1 targets 50 MW of solar power by end-2026, aiming to raise national electricity access from 22.5% to 30%. The program also strengthens economic governance and public-private dialogue.
