NEPAD Launches the first report on Agenda 2063 for Africa
On the margins of the 33rd Ordinary Session of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the Member States of the African Union met to exchange views on the First Continental Report on the Implementation of Agenda 2063. Moderated by the Vice-Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Quartey Thomas Kwesi, the « Evidence-based Report for Collective Reflection and Coordinated Action on the Implementation of Agenda 2063 » provided an opportunity to reflect on the lessons learned from the implementation and reporting on the Agenda.
« The vision of Agenda 2063 is one of inclusive growth, led by its own people. It is a script written by them. Its effective implementation therefore requires continuous monitoring, » said the Vice Chairperson of the African Union Commission.
The African Union summit in January 2013 adopted Agenda 2063 as Africa’s blueprint and blueprint for the continent’s sustainable development and economic growth. Africa has committed itself to this 50-year-development agenda by integrating and implementing it in national and regional development strategies, achieving an overall result of 32% versus the 2019 targets.
