Namibia : the Alte Feste in Windhoek to be restored with German funding

The German government has committed N$3.2 million to restore the Alte Feste in Windhoek, supporting the preservation of Namibia’s cultural heritage. The 19th-century building will be transformed into a national genocide museum and a center for arts and heritage. Restoration begins in late 2025 in collaboration with the Namibian government, the Namibia Craft Centre, the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, and other donors, including the U.S. and FirstRand Foundation.
