To intensify the fight against the mpox outbreak in Africa, the Africa CDC and WHO have unveiled a joint response plan. Launched on September 6, 2024, the Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan for Mpox aims to support countries in curbing the virus’s spread. With a budget of nearly $600 million, the plan runs from September 2024 to February 2025 and includes a multisectoral and community-centered approach.
