After over four years of suspension due to a jihadist insurgency, TotalEnergies announced the restart of its Mozambique LNG project in Cabo Delgado, valued at more than $20 billion. The lifting of the force majeure still requires government approval. The project could make Mozambique one of the top ten global gas producers and contribute 20% of Africa’s production by 2040.
