On October 2, 2025, Eni announced the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the Coral North FLNG project, a floating liquefied natural gas platform located off the coast of Cabo Delgado province in Mozambique. Valued at $7.2 billion, the project aims to double the country’s current LNG production, reaching over 7 million tons per year by 2028. The consortium behind this project includes Eni (50%), China National Petroleum Corporation (20%), Korea Gas Corporation (10%), ENH (10%), and XRG, a subsidiary of ADNOC (10%). This initiative strengthens Mozambique’s position as a major LNG producer in Africa.
