Mozambique : Ecobank sells subsidiary to FDH Bank, refocusing on other African markets

Maputo, September 28, 2025 – Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) completes the sale of its Mozambican subsidiary, Ecobank Mozambique (EMZ), to FDH Bank Plc, approved by regulators. FDH now fully controls four local branches, while Ecobank shifts focus to higher-potential African markets under its “Growth, Transformation, and Returns” strategy. Funded with own capital, the deal reflects African banks’ growing regional expansion.
