Morocco : Nexans to invest 100 million euros by 2026 in a third power cable plant

Nexans, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, ONEE and AMDIE have signed two agreements concerning an investment project worth a total of 100 million euros by 2026, for the creation in Morocco of a third medium-voltage power cable plant by the company, already established in Casablanca and Mohammedia.
This project, which reinforces Nexans’ commitment to the energy transition in Morocco and on the African continent, will create more than 200 direct jobs, and will benefit from the support of government ministries, the Office National de l’Electricité et de l’Eau Potable (ONEE) and the Agence Marocaine de Développement des Investissements et des Exportations (AMDIE).
It will also bring together the Group’s standards of excellence, notably in terms of 4.0 digitalization and cutting-edge innovation for sustainable energy resources, and will enable the delivery of cables in Africa.
