Morocco : foreign reserves hit historic $47 billion record

On December 11, 2025, Bank Al-Maghrib reported that Morocco’s foreign exchange reserves reached an unprecedented MAD 431.24 billion (~$47 billion) at the end of October 2025, up 19.6 % year-on-year. This historic rise, fueled by tourism and foreign direct investment (MAD 45.4 billion, ~$4.9 billion), strengthens Morocco’s external position and its resilience to economic shocks.
